When you're 4 years old, actually, maybe when you're male, the 4th of July just isn't all it could be unless you light some explosives. To properly celebrate the 4th of July, we got a few fireworks appropriate for our driveway. Don't worry, we were cautious and we weren't going to start any fires. We were law-abiding citizens. Because we were home so late on the 4th, we did the Reece Family mini-fireworks display on the 5th. Don't worry, the City lets us light off fireworks through midnight on the 5th... Like I said, law-abiding.
Even though we didn't get anything to dramatic, Hyat still loved setting off fireworks. Embrie, who is not a fan of loud noises, even managed to enjoy the kiddie pack of fireworks (with ear protection - she is a smart girl)! Buck was happy to oblige the kiddos, in purchasing and setting off fireworks, even if there weren't any big ones!

Hyat was a master of lighting the fireworks.
If even thought maybe a firework had lit, he would like crazy to make sure he got away.
More often than not he would have to go back and actually light it.... |

| Supervised. See we really aren't that negligent! |

My mom had dinner with us, and got suckered into
hanging out a little longer and watching the kids in action! |
 |
| Sparklers... Hyat was not terribly impressed. |
 |
| These are more Embrie's pace! |

| My attempt at catching the action... |

Of course, we all enjoyed a little fire. I guess there is a little pyro in all of us. It was great to watch Hyat's face light up (no pun intended) with each firework, no matter how mundane. One of the only drawbacks to living in Montana is that it is light out until after 10 p.m., so either your kids stay up way to late, or you light fireworks while it is still light out. Even though the sun was still up, we had a good time!
