Hyat Update

The life of Hyat is full of new discovery! It is amazing that he will learn new words everyday and is really starting to string things together in full sentences. I can hardly believe that we are so quickly approaching his 2nd birthday. For those of you that want to join us we are planning to celebrate on Sunday, November 1 -- so save the date.

Hyat is thriving at school and consistently gets rave reviews from his teachers. He loves his "buddies" at school and often talks about them and what he does at school at home. It is really neat to watch him develop relationships with other kids his age. They do a lot of artwork in his class and when he brings it home and we hang it on the fridge he will proudly point and say "I made that!"
Hyat has his first dentist appointment tomorrow! He already has 16 teeth and if you do their first checkup before they are 2 it is free! We are going to a pediatric dentist and I know their office has giant fish tanks which Hyat will love. We also know one of the dental assistants so I am sure everything will be fine.
We did some rearranging in our coat closet not too long ago. Shortly thereafter Hyat wandered into the closet and came out with Buck's snowboard helmet. Hyat discovered it fit just right if he put it on backwards!

With all the snowstorms we had I had to bust out and buy Hyat some new winter gear... Mainly snow boots and mittens. A quick trip to Murdochs took care of our needs, and I didn't manage to leave without a pair of rain boots too! Hyat loves them and they are often his footwear of choice... even if he is naked. He is also showing of his adorable "cheese" smile for this photo op!
Last week Buck made us a delicious meal of Eggplant Parmesan. One of the only vegetarian meals we eat in our house. Hyat was helping out by carrying around the spaghetti squash that went with the eggplant parmesan. He would carry it around saying "Heavy! Heavy!" He is also sporting his newest Carhart bibs in this photo. Grandpa bought him his first pair (size 6 mos)and didn't know that he was starting a tradition of buying Hyat a new pair in each size!
