Swim, swim, swim!!!

There has been a lot of swimming for the Reece crew this summer.  First up, is the backyard kiddie pool.  It has been awesome to have on hot days - Hyat and Embrie can spend hours out there swimming and splashing away. It is not super deep, but it is pretty big...We have also made many trips to the local city pool.  It is funny because a lot of Bozemanites complain about it, but it is just what a city pool should be.  I love that they have a shallow pool that my kids can play confidently in and I can take periodic breaks.  Hyat will swim for 3 hours straight and that is a lot of pool time for this mama! To top it all off, with Hyat's camp this summer they also go to Bozeman Hot Springs every Friday.  Hyat really enjoys it and he has become such a better little swimmer this summer.  At camp they have a little bracelet that indicates where you can go - if you have a red bracelet you can go anywhere because you have passed a swimmer's test.  If you have a yellow bracelet you can only go in certain parts of the pools, or have to have on a life jacket.  I honestly think Hyat could pass the swimmer's test, but he hasn't decided to try. He is happy and having fun, so I don't worry about it too much.  Plus, in a setting like that with a whole bunch of kids and because there are big pools and lots of places he can't touch, I am pretty okay with him just rolling with his life jacket on until he is a little stronger swimmer.  Embrie is not quite "swimming" yet, but she is a brave little thing. She has no problem putting her face in the water!

A lot of flotation...

Having fun!
All about the smile!
Relaxing, but not sure about the crazy eyes!
There's a smile!
Some video of the kiddie pool "swimming" watch for Embrie at the end:

Hanging out waiting for mom to get back in!
Taking a break for some juice at Bogart...
We love Bogart. I love that my kiddos can swim  a little without me. Hyat is the pinhead in the top-right corner and Embrie is the closest little kiddo.  On the left you can see the stairs to the duck slide that the kids also love!

It is hard to believe that it is already August.  Somehow celebrating my birthday this week and knowing Hyat is starting Kindergarten this fall makes it feel like summer is coming to a close at a very rapid pace. We are planning a trip to Colorado in just over a week to see Cindy and Jacob and to meet Rueben. We will also get to go Soaring (check out the link, we are pretty spoiled to get to do this!) with my dad.  Then we will head up to see some of Buck's family and meet our other new nephew Rowan!  We are excited!
