Labor Day - Part 1

Labor day means a long weekend full of adventure right... Well, unfortunately for us, Buck had to work on Labor day.  However, we still took the opportunity to enjoy some Labor day fun.  So we took advantage of the invitation to rent a cabin with friends on Hebgen Lake.  Hebgen Lake is between Ennis and West Yellowstone.  As we were getting ready Hyat found his life jacket was so excited he wanted to put it on.  And once it was on, it wasn't coming off!

We drove down on Saturday and headed by Quake Lake... a lake that was created by an earthquake in 1959.  It caused a landslide which damned the Madison River creating the lake.  It was the first time I had seen it and it was pretty impressive!

We then spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday at Hebgen Lake doing those lake things like just hanging out, watching Hyat throw rocks, fishing and of course there was some boating and water skiing.  Here is our

cabin:

We all had fun, but Hyat was in heaven spending all day outside, throwing rocks, fishing with dad and riding in the boat.  There were 2 other little boys there Landon and Jackson 16 and 9 months.  They weren't quite old enough to play with Hyat, but it was nice to have other kids around.

Here is the fishing...

And here I am supervising the fishing.  I think this is the only picture of me as evidence that I was actually there!

Here is Hyat on the boat getting ready to head out.  He was perfectly happy just hanging on the boat while it was docked.

And here is Hyat and dad going for a boat ride.

Though we came home tired and sun kissed it was a great way to spend a weekend.  Oh, and Embrie was a trooper... she is quickly just learning to roll with whatever comes her way!
