Mama and Embrie hanging out!
Hyat playing in the bleachers.... go, go, go and no nap!
Embrie was great hanging out and napping in the bleachers!
The highlight: Hyat riding Vern... If you mention Karley he wants to go ride! One thing that Buck and I are truly thankful is having good friends in our lives. We have been really blessed with friends to surround us in Bozeman. An added bonus to that is when you have friends that have talents and interests different than your own so not only can we grow and learn as we share with them, but they also get to have this really cool impact with our children and help us expose them to things that they may not otherwise get. So a shout out to our friends Karley and Weston! To start Karley and Weston are just great friends and are always willing to lend us a helping hand. Add to that that they have horses and both rope competitively is just great. So a couple of weekends ago we packed up the kids and headed up to White Sulphur Springs to watch them rope. The added bonus was my parents went and met us too.
The drive through Bridger Canyon was beautiful as always. Embrie was snoozing away and Hyat was talking to us about cows and trees and all the things he would see along the way. Then he started to act a little weird and was crying and just being ornery. He was trying to go to sleep, which we though would be great since we weren't sure he would get a nap that afternoon. Next thing we knew he woke up and started puking. At first it was just one spew...but then it kept coming. I was turned around in my seat trying to help him, but there is not a lot you can do for a puking toddler in a carseat from the front seat. Buck was desperately trying to pull over, but on a narrow 2 lane highway there were not a lot of safe options. Once we got pulled over and got Hyat and I cleaned up, Hyat was actually feeling much better, and, as resilient at kids are, he was right to back to his usual happy self. We then loaded back up in the car, counted our blessing that Embrie slept through it all, and hit the road for last 15 or so miles. Not sure what set Hyat off -- just car sick?
We then spent the day watching folks ropes, cheering Karley and Weston on, eating burgers and enjoying a gorgeous September day in Montana. Hyat really enjoyed cheering Karley and Weston on. However, Weston had on a blue shirt and white hat - so when any cowboy went that had on a blue shirt and a white hat, Hyat would cheer for Weston. Those other guys don't know how lucky they were to have Hyat in their cheering section. The highlight was Hyat getting to ride La Vern (Karley's horse). Hyat loved all the rides Karly gave him!
