Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christmas did come to the Reece house!  We had a wonderful Christmas at our house.  It was a nice year to be able to snuggle in at our house and share Christmas with kiddos and few guests - being home also meant that we could keep our pajammas on for most of the day.

We got up and Hyat snuck downstairs to see if Santa had delivered.  While we were getting Embrie up he called up the stairs with much glee that Santa came and brought presents... lots of presents.  As we headed downstairs we found Hyat staring at the tree in awe with nothing but the glow of the Christmas lights - definately wish I had a picture of that one!  We then tackled our stockings while breakfast was cooking.  Summer was over early and let the kiddos open presents from her while we patiently waited for breakfast.  Karley and Weston also joined us for breakfast (Karley was rapidly nearing her due date and they didn't risk leaving town)!

excitement is about as we open stockings

Embrie taking a play break from her stocking (those footie pajammas
served as her stocking) to play with the kitchen Grandpa made!
Then the utter chaos of presents with a 3 year old and 16 month old began.  Hyat was a great helper and really enjoyed opening his presents.  As can be expected each one he opened he wanted to stop and play with, but the luster of the next box in front of him would usually get him to move on so we could get the opening done that day.  Buck and I did little for one another this year, so the few presents we had were nearly forgetten as we enjoyed watching the kids excitement.  After presents, we cleaned up a bit, so the playing could begin!

We did manage to get the kids down for a nap that day.  After a family nap-time, my parents joined the crowed for Christmas dinner.  We enjoyed a large and delicious dinner (thankful for the prime rib had donated for the event)!  A special bonus was that my dad had made Karley a rocking chair for her and baby Paul which was deliverd on Christams day.  My mom also displayed her talent and had a baby bunting/blanket to go along with it.  Karley's surprise and excitement was a true gift!

Like father, like son... We like prime rib!
The dinner table... Remember that table that Buck was bulding me?
It deserves its own post, but here it is in action!
