We recently had the opportunity to head down to Pinedale, WY with friends Waylon and Leigh Shelle and Austin and Deidra. It was shortly after my knee surgery and we welcomed the idea of getting away with a trip was that doable for me. We were also excited to see Pinedale - a small Wyoming town where Waylon and Leigh Shelle had lived for a spell and we have heard a lot about.
It was the perfect 4th of July weekend get away filled with relaxing, eating good food, sun, visiting the park, boating and just enjoying friends.
The events are best told in photos (all taken by the wonderful and talented Leigh Shelle):
Boating on Fremont Lake - It was absolutely beautiful and Hyat loved driving the boat and Embrie loved the wind in her hair! They both tolerated their lifejackets...

One day while we were in Pinedale, we checked out their rec center. Our hope had been to swim, but the splash park/kid pool wasn't open yet, so we got Hyat to tackle the climbing wall. He wasn't so sure at first, then he loved it!

The splash park also included a water slide. Look at this next picture and what do you see?
Do you see those baby legs sticking out? Yup, Buck went flying down this water slide clutching our little girl for dear life! We had watched people go down with and without kids and most just dropped into the water with hardly a splash. Buck must have had on super slick swim trunks because he absolutely rocketed down the slide. Thankfully, post splash Buck came up still clutching Embrie. You can tell by the look on her face, she didn't love it, but she never cried or anything!

We had a really great time with friends and are lucky to have such wonderful friends! Thanks Waylon and Leigh Shelle for putting this trip together!
