As promised here are some beautiful, mostly gummy, baby girl smiles. If you look closely you can see Embrie's three teeth poking through her gums - all three of them coming in at the same time.
Sweet Embrie Jean has reached the 10 month mark. She is not yet crawling, though from sitting she will walk out on her hands and just about reach the crawling position. When she wants something she will reach out toward it and open and close her fist as if saying "gimme that!" Sometimes, it is for a toy, or the dog, or Buck & I. She is full of smiles and belly laughs. She has also started clapping. And she will even clap with her feet. She is a great sleeper these days. When I put her to bed she just smiles at me and will just chatter till she dozes off. Then she wakes up so happy in the mornings and will just smile and reach for you when you get her up in the morning. She has also started giving baby kisses - open mouthed, drool filled, melt your heart kisses. I had almost forgotten how wonderful a baby kiss was!
We are just finishing up her medicine for her ear infection. And she ABSOLUTELY HATES it! I think she took the first dose and since then it was a battle. To begin with she would not open her mouth but would start crying/fussing so we could get it in. But, being a smart little thing, soon after she first say the dropper she would not open her mouth period. So if you did manage to get her to open her mouth and got the medicine in she would gurgle on it and spit out as much as she could. This quickly transitions into blowing furiously as soon as she saw the medicine come out making it impossible to get anything in her. We tried mixing it in food and she would just spit the food out. In the end, we finally started sneaking it into her bottle or sippy cup, which works, for the most part. But I will be glad when we are done this!
Hyat also continues to love his sister. Don't get me wrong he still gets mad when she grabs his toys or he feels like she is getting too much attention. But he continues to play with her more and more. And Embrie loves the attention from her brother she will just smile and laugh and in her own baby way beg for more. He is also very sweet to her. He loves to give Embrie goodnight kisses and always tells her goodbye when we leave the house if she is staying there. If Embrie is upset about something, he will get really close to her and use his sweetest voice and say, "its alright Embrie, I'm right here." And the best part is that he really means it.
Thank you Embrie Jean for all of the sweet baby girl joy that you bring to our lives.
