Chico Hot Springs on a Spring Day

The weather in Bozeman this spring has been back and forth between rain & snow and sunshine. This past week was pretty dreary with lot's of rain and the occassional snow. The weekend forecast for last week was mostly clouds and snow/rain. Buck and I decided that it would be great to still get out and do something so on Saturday morning we took the kids headed to Chico Hot Springs. We hadn't been there for over a year - the last time we went was when Cody, Steph and Raine were here!

First we stopped at the bagel shop and got some bagels and our breakfast snadwiches did not disappoint. Then as we were heading out of town I found an Oukast CD from my college days in Buck's truck, so we had to listen to Rosa Parks a little louder than "appropriate" with two kids in the truck. I also realized that, as with a lot of music, the lyrics were not so appropriate for little ears. Anyway, it made me reminice about college days and my good friend Kelly. Particularly when we had 5 girls live in our 3 bedroom condo in Sunridge for the summer. Life was very different then.

But more importantly our trip to Chico. We hit the road and Hyat was VERY EXCITED to go swimming and that is putting it mildly. Once we got there we could not get Hyat in the pool fast enough. So equipped with his wings he was quickly in the water swimming with dad. It was time for Embrie to eat, so she reluctantly settled in to nurse, but I could still see her eyeing the water. She is definitely the a water baby.

We soaked for about an hour and half. It was perfect. The weather was actually pleasant with the sun peaking through, but not too warm to really enjoy the hot springs. The pool has a super shallow end and Hyat loved the independance of that. He had his wings and Embrie had a floaty which we referred to as the boat. She loved that thing and would actually kick her little legs and move herself around. Hyat also had a lot of fun playing with his sister. It makes me look forward to days to come when they can be companions.
