Thanksgiving

Cindy and Jacob braved the winter roads and made the long haul to Montana for Thanksgiving.  The roads were bad enough they didn't make it all the way on Wednesday and finished their drive on Thursday morning.  While they were driving, I coerced the remainder of the family into doing the Huffing for Stuffing on Thanksgiving morning.  With predicted temperatures of -12 degrees we were thankful to be above 0 for the race... I think it might have even reached double digits before we were running.  Buck and I bundled the kids and pushed them in the stroller - pushing 50+ pounds of kids on snowy roads is a lot work, but we made it.  My parents did the "fun run" and got their exercise in too.  Unfortunately, I failed to get pictures.  But Hyat did make the news as he ran across the finish line.  I will have to try to get that video up on here!

We then had breakfast at our house before heading out to my parents to spend the day and have our Thanksgiving feast.  Our feast was delicious!

 After dinner, we made homemade icecream to go with my mom's apple cranberry pie.  The kids had a lot of fun hanging out while Buck churned ice cream.  Their favorite part was ringing the doorbell and peering in the windo at whoever came to check on them.

 We did a little black Friday shopping at Murdochs.  Then went to the Ice Dogs Hockey game that nigt.  Hyat had so much fun watching the hocky game. He was glued to the glass with his dad the entire time.  He would not stop talking hockey, so the next day Buck took him out to buy him a hocky stick....he is already getting pretty good!

We really enjoyed our time with Cindy and Jacob and I am REALLY glad that it was not me facing the icey roads!
