Easter!

Happy belated Easter! I hope it was wonderful. We had a great Easter. Our church hosts an "Easter Egg Dash" on Saturday! This included 40,000 eggs and was open to the entire Bozeman area. (The congregation stuffs the eggs and Buck and I pitched in, but only did about 200)! It was at a local golf course and we decided to check it out.
Here is Buck and Hyat descending toward the sea of eggs! I think the entire driving range was covered!

Here all all the eggs....

And of course our cute kid...

They had it divided into categories with Hyat in the 0-3 age division. We thought that would be great he could pick up a couple of eggs and we could get a couple of great pics... Unfortunately, that is not quite how it turned out. As soon as it started, all of the parents rushed out with their kids and even started picking up egs for them. It was all Buck could do to stand gaurd over one egg so Hyat could could pick it up!
Here is the madness! (Buck and Hyat are in there somewhere)!

And Hyat's loot:

All Hyat really needed was an egg or two to play with. I was really just surprised by the mentality of some of the parents. So it goes right....
Hyat did get his own easter basket this year! (Don't worry the chocolate in there is really for mom and dad)!
The best part is we got him a dozen eggs to "hunt" at home... we initially put one jelly bean in each of the eggs. Now he always looks in his eggs for a treat! So you can put one jelly bean in one egg and he will methodically begin to open the twelve eggs until he finds the bean. It is pretty cute. And he is a happy camper when he finds that jelly bean!

That's funny that he'll open all the eggs looking for one jelly bean. What a bummer about all the parents. Doesn't surprise me though. As a mom one of the hardest things is to control the mama bear urge and only use it when it's really necessary. Give me a break though people!
