Texas: Camp Wood - Day 6
After Port Aransas and Mexico, we returned to Gene and Lillian's for the remainder of our time in Texas. It was filled with great days of fishing around the area. For our first venture we went to Camp Wood and fished the Neuces River. It is a gorgeous stretch of river with super clear water and lots of bass and blue gill. It is really fun to fly fish because they fish are so aggressive and the water really clear so you get to see everything as the fish takes your fly. Often the fish are so aggressive that you have this little fish (smaller than your fly) trying so hard to eat it. There are also catfish in this stretch of water, but I am not sure anyone caught any of those. Hyat was pretty tired from our travels so after playing with rocks and dirt and wading in the water he hung out in the back pack quite a bit.
