The next day were able to sleep in, well as much as a 16 month old lets you. And then had a quiet day around Gene and Lillian's house. First we had a delicious breakfast. I can't remember exactly what we had, but I know it was good because every meal Lillian cooks is outstanding. Then we went to town. There are two options: Uvalde, TX which is about 5 minutes or LaPryor with is about 15 miles. This time we were going to the big city - LaPryor. While there we did a little grocery shopping and got our fishing licenses for the week. Then we had to get back to the Corrigan's in time for "dinner" (really that is lunch to us up north)! After lunch, my mom and I enjoyed the Texas sun and relaxed while Hyat napped. My dad and Buck were off to fish "the tanks." In south Texas, tanks are irrigation ponds that are stocked with bass, crappies, and sometimes catfish. Since Buck couldn't wait to get his fly rod rolling, they were out the door. After Hyat got up we took him over to the Nueces River near Gene and Lillian's house. He wasn't so sure about it at first. The only rivers he has been in are awfully cold! But he settled right in before long and was splashing and throwing rocks like any boy should!
That evening Cindy and Jacob made it down and we started to get ready for the next leg of our adventure. We had a trip planned down the gulf for a few days including some saltwater fishing! It was also that night that Gene and Lillian's twin boys came over and made dinner. And boy did they go all out! First, they smoked everything in site: ribs, chicken, sausage, jalapeno poppers, etc. They made amazing beans, bread, bbq sause, you name it. Lillian made delicious potatoe salad and they even made peach cobbler for dessert. Wow! The twins even enter competitions for their smoked meat so Buck picked up a few tips!

Oh, sitting in the sun. That would be nice right now. Looks like fun. Jerry would love all the fishing. Hope you had some success-I'm sure you did.
